Print Media Textiles: Replacing Rigid?

Apr 3, 2023 | News

Signage substrates seem softer. It’s both a tongue twister and an ongoing trend TVF’s Print Media Team is noticing… Especially in retail environments.

“Demand drives innovation,” says Jeff Nonte, TVF’s vice president of print media sales. “There continues to be a need and opportunity for soft signage in retail. Soft fabrics have been replacing rigid substrates in retail advertising environments for years, and that trend has resumed in recent months with steady growth.”

Nonte discussed his observations on the broader U.S. digital printed textile market in a recent story published by Digital Output Magazine. He notes the high-end backlit category remains hot and anticipates it being in high demand as the brick-and-mortar retail sector bounces back after the low points of COVID-19 lockdowns. The National Retail Federation reports the U.S. economy grew 2.1% in 2022 on the back of factors including inventory increases and consumer spending.

TVF has just launched four print media fabrics, including our 5.2 oz. Prism, a lightweight backlit that’s highly-versatile and specially-engineered for digital printing to make backlit frame displays come to life. Plug in to TVF’s decades of textile expertise today.
