What is Microsuede?

What is Microsuede?

Overview

Microsuede is a highly versatile, durable, and cost-effective synthetic fabric that mimics the look and feel of genuine suede. Its softness, stain resistance, and ease of maintenance make it ideal for a wide range of applications, particularly board shorts, jackets, linings, and more!

How is Microsuede Made?

Microsuede is made through a process that produces fibers so fine and dense that they can be tightly woven into a fabric. The surface is then brushed to raise the fibers, creating the famous nap that mimics the velvety texture of suede. This process allows for precise control over the fabric’s thickness, weight, and finish.

TVF’s Polyester Mid-Weight Microsuede is sanded, or sueded, with a water repellent finish. It is wrinkle-resistant and has a very quiet and soft hand. The comfort and wind/water resistance of this fabric make it a popular choice for a variety of uses. The material dries quickly and is often used for dye sublimation as it prints exceptionally well.
