When nylon fibers are first extruded they are completely smooth – like dental floss or fishing line. Texturing adds bulk and also hides any minor imperfections when the nylon fabric is dyed or with normal wear and tear during use. Fabric texturing can also reduce pilling, with small fibers less likely to tangle.

The air-jet texturing process creates yarn that is bulky with permanent crimps and loops, closely resembling spun yarns in both appearance and physical characteristics. It’s a versatile fabric texturing method that can blend filaments together during processing.
